Laser, a good therapy for acne without side effects
Laser appears to be a good acne treatment without side effects. Lasers and light-based systems has become one of the most common ways to treat a variety of skin disorders, including acne vulgaris, in the last ten years.
Many patients do not respond properly, or develop side effects in the different treatment for oral and local treatment of acne. Therefore, the growing demand of patients who suffered from acne for a faster, safer and free of side effects of novel treatments.
The Dermatology and Laser Clinic MSQ Tel Aviv, Caesarea, Israel, studied in order to address this situation in relation to the role of light therapy in the treatment armamentarium for acne vulgaris, to discuss photobiology aspects and biomedical optics, to review the current technologies, laser / light-based tools to review the clinical experience and results, and to develop clinical guidelines and treatment considerations are reported.
After a series of clinical studies suggest that 85 percent of patients show a significant decrease in volume of at least 50 percent of the injuries after four biweekly treatments. About 20 percent of the cases show that acne can eliminate the 90 per cent. Three months after the last treatment, clearance is approximately 70 per cent to 80 per cent. Meanwhile, the non-respondent rate of 15 percent to 20 percent.
According to the researchers, the laser-and light-based therapies for the safe and effective method of treatment of mild to moderate inflammatory acne vulgaris. After comparing to the effects of oral antibiotics, and improvement of acne by light therapy offers faster resolution and fewer side effects and the effect on patient satisfaction.
